MTV Movie and TV Awards 2017: Full nominations list, and everything else you should know

This year, the MTV Awards will also bestow awards in the music category in first ever 2017 MTV Movie and TV Awards.

MTV Movie Awards first started off in 1992. Before that, MTV exclusively doled out awards in the music category. This year, MTV has chosen to be more inclusive, and will also be honouring the best of the best in television as well. The 2017 MTV Movie and TV Awards will be held at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium from where the programme will broadcast live in many countries. There is sadly no news yet whether India is one of these chosen few.

Aside from the awards, there will also be a Movie & Television Festival which is to be held before the awards ceremony. The concert will feature live performances by several artists such as Bea Miller, All Time Low, and Zara Larsson. Other musical guests also include Miley Cyrus’ kid sister, Noah Cyrus who makes her debut at the awards with a live performance of “Stay Together,” and Big Sean singing “Jump Out the Window.

Unlike every other year, where the ceremony was pre-recorded and broadcast later, the 2017 MTV Awards will be airing live on MTV on May 7, Sunday at 8 pm ET.

While past shows have often been pre-recorded in front of a live audience before airing, this year’s MTV Movie and TV Awards will be broadcast live from Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium on Sunday, May 7th, starting at 8/7c on MTV networks. Prior to the show, however, there’ll also be a day-long “Movie & Television Festival” taking place beforehand outside of the auditorium, fit with musical performances and celebrity guests.

The ceremony will be hosted by actor/comedian Adam Devine. The Workaholics actor has also been nominated in the Best Comedic Performance category. Speaking of nominations, here is the full list of nominees for the MTV MTVAs:
