J&K: 2 LeT terrorists gunned down by security forces in Pulwama

An encounter is currently underway between the security forces and militants in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. One terrorist killed

Two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists who were holed in a house have been gunned down by the security forces in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on March 9.

According to reports, the encounter between the military forces and the militants that was going on since morning is still underway. The security officials are still looking for some more terrorists that could be holed up in the area.  A group of terrorists were said to be hiding in a house in the Padgampora area.

The security officials had cordoned off the area and made efforts to nab the militants. The CRPF officials affirmed that troops of 130 Bn CRPF, 55 RR and SOG Pulwama were involved in the operation. Even though the police officials did not confirm the presence of the terrorists, they suspected a presence of 4-5 terrorists in the house.

After killing one LeT terrorist, the security forces were making efforts to nab another terrorist who was hiding in the house The security forces also urged the wife of the terrorist to convince her husband to surrender. The second slain terrorist has been identified as Mohd Shafi Shergujari.

This comes just days after suspected ISIS terrorist Saifullah was killed in a house on the outskirts of Lucknow after a 12-hour-long operation was conducted to capture him alive. Saifullah was killed in an exchange of fire with the police. As per reports, Saifullah was a devout member of the Kanpur-Lucknow unit of IS’s Khorasan module.

Additionally, one militant was killed in a police encounter last week during an encounter with military forces. Militants were holed up in a house in Tral area of Jammu and Kashmir.
