Lucknow encounter: Here are the details of suspects behind the attack

In a joint operation by Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh Police after the blast in Bhopal-Ujjain train on March 7, eight arrests were made. The three of the accused — Danish, Mir Hussain and Atif Muzaffar — were arrested from Pipariya in MP. Two more, Mohammad Faisal and Mohammad Irfan, were nabbed from Jajmau near Kanpur, while another, Faiz Alam, was arrested from Etawah in UP.

Here are the details of the arrested suspects:

Syed Mir Hussain, alias Hamza, Gursahaiganj, Kannauj

Mir Hussain and Atif Muzaffar were close cousin since childhood, both were arrested together from Pipariya, MP. Mir left home to join a coaching for engineering exams in Aligarh, however, officials said he never joined it.

Mir had reportedly left home on February 5 and met Atif Muzaffar, his childhood cousin, in Lucknow. Mir, had stayed with Atif, Saifullah and Danish at Haji Colony, Lucknow where the ATS carried out the operation on March 7. Both, Mir and Atif were arrested in Madhya Pradesh.

Mir’s father Syed Ahsan Hassan is a teacher who runs Star Public School in Gursahaiganj area of Kannauj district. Syed Ahsan Hassan has not come out from his house since the arrest.

Fakr-e-Alam arrested from Lakhna Maheshwari Mohal Locality, Etawah

Fakr-e-Alam was arrested with his brother Faiz by Uttar Pradesh ATS from their home in Lakhna’s Maheshwari Mohal, about 35 km from Etawah.

Fakr-e-Alam was studying for his final semester of B.Tech (Mechanical) in CHC College, Chandigarh. He stayed with sister, Air Force official brother-in-law in Chandigarh. Fakr-e-Alam, 21, is the youngest of 10 siblings. Faiz, who was also detained, was preparing to take the civil service examination in Delhi after completing his post graduation in Geography from Agra.

Their father Babu Khan, 70, said he would not want his son back if proved guilty.

Imran, Danish, Faizal arrested from Tad Bagiya, Kanpur

2 km from Saifullah’s house, in the Tad Bagiya area of Kanpur, is the house of Imran, Danish and Faizal brothers and three suspects.

Brothers and three suspects— Imran, Danish and Faizal were arrested from Tad Bagiya, Kanpur. Danish had run away from home after he was scolded for studies.

The father of 3, Naseem Ahmed is a retired primary schoolteacher. He said, his sons are innocent. Though Saifullah is his brother’s son, Naseem said he has nothing to do with him. Imran who is married. He was working in a private company in Unnao’s Banthar.

Atif Muzaffar, Kanpur Development Authority Colony

Another suspect in Lucknow encounter, Atif Muzaffar had done his Class X studies in Aligarh and later joined AMU to pursue a short-term course in footwear design but left studies after father’s death.  Interestingly, like Danish and Saifullah, Atif also ran away from home two-and-a-half months ago.

Atif’s house is located in the Kanpur Development Authority Colony, near the Ram Leela Ground. His late father, M H Muzaffar, was a respected man in the area and owned a leather factory.

Atif’s mother said, “He told me he was leaving for Delhi. I tried to convince him but he did not listen. I did not speak to him.”

She further asserted that, in the last two months, Atif had tried to call her from different phone numbers.
