Muslim girl Suhana Sayeed gets trolled for singing Hindu devotional song on a reality show

Suhana Sayeed, a contestant in a singing reality show, got trolled for singing a devotional song of other religion and for participating in a reality show.

In a shocking incident, a Muslim girl is being attacked on social media for singing a Hindu devotional song. Suhana Sayeed, a 22-year-old girl from Shimoga district, who is also a contestant in a Kannada singing reality show got trolled for singing a devotional song of other religion and was also criticised for “tarnishing” the Muslim community by “singing in front of men.”

A Facebook page with the name Mangalore Muslims wrote, “Suhana you have tarnished the Muslim Community by singing in front of men. Do not feel that you have achieved a great feat; people who learn to recite Quran in 6 months have achieved more. Your parents have encouraged you to show your beauty to other men, they will not go to heaven because of you. Please give up the pardah that you are wearing as you don’t respect it.”

However, after her performance, Suhana received a standing ovation not only from the audience, which was present during the show, but also from the judges of the reality show. One of the judges, Arjun Janya, who is a Kannada music director said that through her performance she has proved that peace and harmony can be maintained among different religions through music.

“Your voice is really good; you have done a great job. By singing a Hindu devotional song you have become the symbol of unity and music is a medium where people can unite,” said Arjun Janya.

However, Suhana has not commented on the trolling yet.
