Additionally, it is being reported that despite delaying to surrender before the court, Sasikala put forth a number of demands after entering the prison. According to an NDTV report, while demanding an A-class cell, Sasikala told the authorities that she would prefer a barrack that has a table and a fan. She has also demanded non-vegetarian food twice a week. However, several media reports suggested that she had to sleep on the floor since there was no cot in the dark room of the Bengaluru jail where she has been lodged. She has also demanded a special place for meditation.

She had also demanded for a separate helper, a TV, mineral water and a geyser.

However, several media reports suggested that she had to sleep on the floor since there was no cot in the dark room of the Bengaluru jail where she has been lodged. Additionally, it is being reported that no VIP treatment has been given to Sasikala and will be given a wage of Rs 50 per day. She is also reportedly sharing the cell with two other women and has no AC in her room. She will also have to wear clothes and eat the food in a food like the rest of the inmates in the prison.

In a massive blow for AIADMK General Secretary Sasikala Natarajan, the Supreme Court convicted her in the disproportionate asset case against her. Additionally, she has also been fined for Rs 10 crore. She also requested the Supreme Court to grant her more time to surrender. However, the top court dismissed the pleas while asking her to surrender immediately.

Before surrendering, Sasikala visited Jayalalithaa’s memorial and before leaving, she slammed the tomb thrice apparently promising to win over the conspiracy that led to a divide in the party.

After the verdict, Sasikala held an emergency meeting at the Golden Bay resort where she had lodged all the MLAs to keep the flock together. AIADMK soon announced that Sasikala has been replaced by Edappadi K Palanisamy as legislative party leader of the party. He has urged the governor to allow him to form a government in the state.
