Bhumika Sharma, a 21-year-old girl from Dehradun has made India proud by winning the title of Miss World in a bodybuilding competition held in Venice. This Doon girl has not only won the title and a gold medal but has also proved that women are no less than men even in bodybuilding. Bhumika grabbed all the limelight with her grand win and has become a hot topic of discussion on social media. She received maximum points in individual posing, body posing and fall in categories which made her win the world championship.
The Journey
Bhumika Sharma’s mother is a head coach of the India women’s weightlifting team and her father is a businessman. Both of them wanted her to take up shooting, but she wanted to follow her passion and eventually, after much drama her parents agreed and supported her to follow bodybuilding.
Fitness Regime
Bhumika follows a heavy duty workout regime and spends about 7 hours a day in the gym. With her hard work and dedication, she has managed to make her mark at the national and international level and is now preparing very hard for the Miss Universe title in the bodybuilding championship.
Well, the Miss Universe Championship will be held in December this year and will be organised by the National Amateur Body-Builders’ Association of United Kingdom. And bodybuilders from 60 countries will compete against each other for the title. We wish Bhumika all the very best for the championship and we hope that she makes the proud once again.
