Despite a few hiccups in the first session, India have done nothing wrong in Hyderabad Test. After KL Rahul’s early wicket, Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara did reasonably well to play out the new ball. Bangladesh fielders made a blunder of a runout opportunity, Vijay survived and went on to score 108.

Even after Mehedi Hasan provided the breakthrough, visitors’ problem did not come to a halt. Skipper Virat Kohli stole the show with his exquisite timing, piercing the fielding with precision. After Vijay’s wicket, pressure was on Rahane to perform, having been picked up in the side ahead of triple-centurion Karun Nair, his innings attracted a lot of attention.
Kohli-Rahane will be expected to carry on on Day Two and take the score to an extent where India do not have to bat again. After scoring rapidly, they are expected to declare and ask Bangladesh batsmen to come on the field.
