The league has come to a point where the teams will be fighting for survival in order to reach the IPL 2017 playoffs. GL are in a dire need of a win as this might be their last chance to make it into playoffs having registered just 3 wins from 10 games.
On the other hand, are one spot above DD as they are in 6th place with 3 wins from 9 games. DD got off to a good start but lost a bunch of close-shave games which led to their team stranded in the bottom four of the IPL 2017 standings. It is still not clear whether Zaheer Khan has fully recovered from his hamstring injury and is feet to play against GL. In his absence, Karun Nair will be leading the side against Suresh Raina’s side.

GL have been unfortunate in the previous two games as they have lost the previous two games going right down to the wire. They lost in the superover against Mumbai Indians (MI) followed a loss to Rising Pune Supergiant in the last over, thanks to Ben Stokes’ maiden IPL century. DD’s batting lineup looks as ferocious as ever playing at their home ground with youngsters Karun Nair, Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson and Shreyas Iyer firing up the order.

Their bowling too has been working well for them, there is still doubt whether Marlon Samuels will play for DD or not. GL’s batting has the firepower but has been inconsistent of late. Youngster Ishan Kishan has been in splendid form lately. With Brendon McCullum, Aaron Finch and Suresh Raina in the team one must expect a big score from the side. They need a win against DD otherwise they will be out of the race of playoffs.
