ISSF World Cup: Jitu Rai sets world record, wins Gold in 50 m pistol event

Indian shooter Jitu Rai wins Gold medal in 50-meter air pistol with a world record finals’ score of 230.1 . This is Jeetu’s third medal in the competition, whereas Amanpreet Singh won Silver medal in 50-meter pistol event at ISSF World Cup on March 1. While shooting on home soil they have stepped up their game and has been bringing home joy.

Earlier, ace shooter Jitu Rai won Bronze in 10-meter air pistol on February 28 and won a Gold medal in 10-meter air pistol on February 27.

Jitu Rai if one remembers was the frontrunner going into the Olympics last year, a lot of hopes had been pinned on him. This will surely boost the confidence of the Indian shooters and keep them in good stead for their upcoming tournaments.

It seems Indian shooting is on the right track and the future seems hopeful. In the past India has been blessed with ace shooters like Abhinav Bindra, Gagan Narand and Raghuvendra Rathore.

As they say, the morning shows the day, going by that logic it seems 2017 could be a memorable year for the shooters.
