Smriti Irani tweets about Lilly Singh, aka 'Superwoman', Twitter goes into raptures

Do you know what 'Bawse' mean? Smriti Irani didn't and here's what she has to say about that

Lilly Singh – the highest paid female YouTuber who has over 11 million subscribers, has been making rounds of the internet for multiple reasons. Not only is she a proud feminist who has collaborated with some of the biggest actors including Priyanka Chopra, Lilly has given us all the reasons to call her ‘Superwoman’. We all love her for her amazing comic timing and gigs, though her super cool accent and slangs can be little confusing at times. You’d agree, right? Well, and so would India’s Union Cabinet Minister of Textiles Smriti Irani who took to Twitter to talk about how she feels out of touch thanks to the veritable dictionary of new slang words doing the rounds. Her tweet has resulted in multiple reactions and netizens are cheering her on.

“You know you are old when your 13-year old says ‘Bawse’ and you say ‘Whattt?”, wrote Irani much to everybody’s amusement.  She also went on to tag Lilly who is behind this slang which simply means ‘Boss’ with a really heavy accent. Lilly, she is a ‘Bawse’ because she is downright badass and makes people feel good and happy. Mrs Irani also shared a picture of the YouTuber’s debut book “How to Be a Bawse: A Guide To Conquering Life”.

So far, the tweet has gained over 460 retweets and 3500 likes and countless comments from Lilly Singh’s fans who are reeling over a Union Minister talking about their idol.

Lilly is visiting India as part of her book tour which covers varied topics like career choices, relationships to everyday annoyances. She will be holding the book event in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Delhi on April 19, 20 and 21. So, save the date folks!
