One of the biggest reasons people across the globe fear bringing puppies home is because they are worried about leaving them home alone. Amid the busy schedule and need to go to the office, it is impossible to leave your newborn pup alone. While the companies in India and abroad are taking steps to increase the maternity leave because a child needs his/her mother in the initial days, we wish some thought could also be given to granting leaves when you bring a new puppy home.
Before you cringe, think about this. Puppies are tiny, they require a lot of care, they need to be fed timely and they CANNOT be left alone. So why can’t we get some cooperation from our beloved companies to take care of our fur babies?
However, these companies have taken cognisance and are actually providing paid leaves to employees who have gone ahead and brought home puppies. Yep, it wasn’t a typographical error. These three companies are really offering “pawternity” leave to its staffers.
One of the companies that are offering paid puppy leaves include Mars Petcare. This company lets the owner take 10-hours of paid leave and then allows the pet to accompany its owner to the office. BitSol Solutions, on the other hand offers a week leave for the proud parents of the new puppies. BrewDog has just started offering pawternity leaves to their employees while affirming that the companies are absolutely in love with dogs. Who aren’t after all?
