Soon after Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav released their Uttar Pradesh election manifesto, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley released the BJP’s manifesto for the upcoming Punjab elections. In the manifesto, BJP said that they would make sure free education till PhD for girls from weaker sections of the society and guaranteed jobs for every family in the state if they come to power in Punjab.
Arun Jaitley further affirmed that BJP’s alliance with the Shiromani Akali Dal will continue like before and the government would up with many more development plans for the state if they are allowed to govern in the state.

While addressing a gathering, Jaitley said that the party has high hopes of BJP-SAD alliance to come back to power again.
Recently, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal targeted the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) through his tweet and accused SAD and Congress leaders Sukhbir Singh Badal and Capt. Amrinder Singh of being in cahoots to ensure nobody from either party loses their seat.
Meanwhile, putting an end to all the speculations, cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu who had recently quit BJP joined the Congress Party on January 15 months ahead of the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections. He will contest from Amritsar East.
