Our struggle will continue, says Kejriwal as AAP faces defeat in Punjab and Goa

Aam Aadmi Party is yet to open an account in Goa where the party had claimed to win with big majority

Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal has conceded defeat following his party’s poor show in state assembly elections. Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, the Delhi chief minister said, Honour People’s verdict, all our party members worked hard, our struggle will continue(Janata Ka faisla sar aankhon par sabhi karyakartaon ne bahut mehnat ki, Sangharsh Jaari Rahega).

As per the latest trends Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party is leading on 24 seats in Punjab while it failed to gain a single seat in Goa. Congress is leading on 74 seats in Punjab and BJP and Congress are in a neck to neck fight in Goa. Interestingly the party was claiming a landslide victory in both the states.

Kejriwal has previously stated that the poll results of March 11 will be a ‘huge surprise’ for the ‘so-called political pundits’. Party has claimed that it will get as many as 100 seats in Punjab, however the party has emerged as the second largest party . Meanwhile Bharatiya Janata Party is cruising towards a majority in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
