With the Congress-SP combine heading towards a defeat in Uttar Pradesh elections, the grand old party has said that party vice president Rahul Gandhi should not be held responsible for the poll drubbing.

Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi on Saturday said party Vice President Rahul Gandhi should not be singled out for the party’s poor showing in Uttar Pradesh.

As per the latest trends, BJP is leading at 293 seats in Uttar Pradesh, while SP-Congress alliance and BSP are leading on 79 seats and 25 seats respectively.
