In a major boost to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, the Election Commission on January 16 recognised the faction headed by him as the Samajwadi Party and allotted the reserved symbol ‘cycle’ to it for contesting the UP Assembly polls.
The group led by Akhilesh Yadav is entitled to use its name and reserved symbol cycle, the three-member EC headed by Nasim Zaidi said in its order. Following EC’s decision, people in the state are rejoicing, they are happy that the young UP CM has emerged as the winner.
Youths are voicing their support for Akhilesh and have high hopes that once again he will become the CM of the state.
“The EC has taken the right decision to give the party symbol to Akhilesh. He has developed the state ever since he came to power and I think that this time also he will form the government in the state as people are happy with him,” said Akhilendra Pandey, a student of MBA.
“The EC decision to hand over the party symbol to Akhilesh is very good. He has the power he deserves the symbol. The other faction had no support, but Akhilesh had support so giving him the symbol is the right choice. He will become the CM once again,” said Imran Abbas.
Despite all the family feud, it seems people are with the young UP CM. They are happy with his schemes and development works. He has emerged as a strong leader despite all the differences with his father Mulayam Singh Yadav and uncle Shivpal Yadav.
“I think that the decision in favour of the UP CM is very good. Presently they are in majority and now after the election they’ll once again form the government will full majority. He has done a lot of development and has never relied on caste based politics. He brought metro to Lucknow, soon Kanpur will also get the metro. Akhilesh did something we all hadn’t thought about. We all are with Akhilesh Yadav, he will form the government,” said Faraz Javed, a BBA graduate.
With BSP and BJP looking to take advantage of the family fight, it seems that the voters have decided to vote for Akhilesh and he will become the UP CM once again.
