As Varanasi is all set to go for polls on March 8 in the last phase of Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally in his constituency on March 4 . Earlier in a day he did a roadshow in the city and addressed a rally in Jaunpur where he invoked surgical strike issue. Targeting opposition PM said, for political gain some parties questioned surgical strikes and misled nation on One Rank One Pension (OROP)
Predicting BJP’s win in UP, PM Modi said, “on March 11, our government will be formed in Uttar Pradesh and Samajwadi, Congress, BSP will be wiped out”.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi kick-started the high-voltage campaign for the seventh phase of Uttar Pradesh elections. In a massive show of strength, PM’s roadshow began from the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) gate at 9 am, and moved towards Kashi Vishwanath temple with a huge crowd of supporters.
Bharatiya Janata Party President Amit Shah and other senior leaders were present to greet him when he arrived at the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in a special Indian Air Force chopper. After a brief interaction, he moved in his bulletproof car in a cavalcade to a guest house. However, a minor scuffle took place between Samajwadi Party (SP) and BJP workers took place outside the Singh Dwar of the BHU .
