Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections 2017: PM Modi rally in Aligarh, top highlights
After taking on Akhilesh-Rahul alliance in Merrut on February 4, PM Narendra Modi mocked Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in Aligarh on February 5. While addressing the rally the Prime Minister asserted that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister took Congress assistance to survive.
Uttar Pradesh will go to polls in seven phases, between Feb 11- March 8, which will be followed by counting on March 11. After taking the charge of the office, this is PM Modi’s first visit to the city.
“Aligarh’s famous locks are now used to lock factories in Aligarh itself because the govt in Lucknow doesn’t provide electricity”, PM Modi added.
“Undertook this fight against corruption so that people esp the poor and youth get their rightful & money can be used for their welfare”, he added.

- For 70 yrs, 18000 villages didn’t have electricity; Most cases were from UP; We’ve taken up work of electrification in mission mode.
- We’ve undertaken welfare measures for sugarcane farmers, but why is it so that UP government has not been able to look after them?
