Uttar Pradesh Elections 2017: Give us a chance for real development in state, says PM Narendra Modi in Lakhimpur Kheri

Talking about the situation of law and order in the state, he accused state CM Akhilesh Yadav of getting high on his powers instead of taking care of the rising crime in the state.

Following the campaign trails for the second phase of the Uttar Pradesh state assembly elections, scheduled on February 15, Prime Minster Narendra Modi arrived at Lakhimpur Kheri and addressed a rally. It was the 4th constituency where PM Modi addressed a huge crowd of people after ruling Samajwadi Party and Congress formed an alliance and decided to fight the elections together.

Targeting the Cong-SP alliance yet another time, PM Modi asserted that people of Uttar Pradesh have proved through the first phase of polling held on February 11 that no matter how many alliance you form, your sins will never vanish. Further, stressing on the development status of the state, he said,”UP has experienced the governance of Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party and Congress but development has not been experienced yet.”

Talking about the situation of law and order in the state, he accused state CM Akhilesh Yadav of getting high on his powers instead of taking care of the rising crime in the state. He said,”A state where the criminal gangs are being regulated right from the prisons, where rape, murder, and homicide happens every day, these can’t be termed as work done by the state government. The leaders have converted the police stations into party offices. You say ‘Kaam Bolta Hai‘ but projects are incomplete. What is speaking volumes is the instances of women harassment in the state.”

Earlier, he also invited Akhilesh to take a ride with him in the Lucknow metro, indicating that while the Centre had helped finance it, nobody from the union government was invited to its inauguration.

With requesting the people to vote only for BJP, PM Modi said,”The state has been harassed a lot by the SP government in last 5 years. Give us a chance to serve and we will lift the state to higher levels of development.”

Aaj Delhi mein ek aisa bhai baitha hai aapka jo aapki seva, raksha karna chahta hai, aap bas mauka dijiye (You have a brother sitting in Delhi who wants to serve and protect you, you just need to give an opportunity). The youth could get employment, I want to generate such a model in the state. ”
