Hours after roaring in Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor and slamming the Samajwadi-Congress alliance, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the devotional city of Uttarakhand, Haridwar, to campaign for the upcoming state assembly polls scheduled to take place on February 15.
PM Modi praised the serenity and purity of Dev Bhoomi Haridwar and described the importance of this place across the world. But simultaneously, he targeted the Congress government currently ruling the state and asked the crowd of people present over there whether they agree to welcome a corrupt government once again in the state. He said,”There is something very spiritual about Uttarakhand. This is a Dev Bhoomi. But, does this land deserve a corrupt Govt?”
“The corruption of the Government in Uttarakhand is well known and even then the party leadership is not bothered,” he added further.

Urging the people for a better future, he stated that Uttrakhand could gain back everything that it had lost in last five years by bringing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in power.
At that very moment, PM Modi also remembered former Atal Bihari Vajpayee and said that during his tenure, he gave three new states to the country – Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand. He asserted that if BJP comes to power in the state, they will change people’s and state’s future. He said,”Uttarakhand needs two engines, the state govt under BJP and the Central government in Delhi which will take the state to new heights.”
One more time hitting the Congress party, PM Modi brought the issue of One Rank One Pension (OROP) in focus and accused present Chief Minister of the state, Harish Rawat of not taking this matter to the centre. He said,”Uttarakhand is a land of Heroes and it had produced numerous brave soldiers to the Indian army. But, the ruling state government didn’t approach the centre and befooled the people over OROP.”

Terming the surgical strike ‘the greatest success’, PM Modi claimed that our soldiers slammed Pakistan overnight but still some people from opposition doubted our move. “Our armed forces showed what they are capable of, during surgical strikes. Yet, some people do not accept that & want to play politics,” said PM Modi.
“Is desh ko 70 saal tak loota gaya, har pad ka najayaz fayda uthaya gaya. Logon ko bhrashtachar ki aadat ho gai thi. Un sabhi ki neend ab ud gai hai. Meri ladaai kaaledhan ke khilaaf hai. Jinhone pal-pal sabse loota hai, meri ladai unke khilaaf hai (This nation has been looted for 70 long years, people misused their powers and position and now they are worried and couldn’t sleep. My war is against black money and all such people), ” said PM Modi while speaking about demonetisation. Further, he added,”I banned the notes becuase I want to repair the damage done in past 70 years.”
