The teaser of Mohanlal’s upcoming film, 1971 Beyond Borders has just released. Directed by Major Ravi and produced by Haneef Mohammed, the film is touted to be a war-thriller.
1971 Beyond Borders also marks the fifth collaboration of Mohanlal and director Major Ravi. A few minutes ago, Mohanlal took to his Facebook page to reveal the teaser.
The 35-second long teaser features Mohanlal as Colonel Mahadevan in two different sequences. The teaser started with Lalettan visiting a temple festival with the Chenda Melam ( famous traditional band in Kerala) and ends with the actor’s glimpse from a war zone.
The captivating background score is the biggest USP of the teaser. Overall, the teaser of 1971 Beyond Borders is a big winner from the very first scene.
1971 Beyond Borders also marks the fourth installment of Major Mahadevan series. Earlier, Mohanlal had portrayed the same role in the Major Ravi’s previous films including Keerthi Chakra, Kurukshetra, and Kandahar. The film is set in two time periods and depicts the story of India – Pakistan war of 1971.
1971 Beyond Borders stars Asha Sharath as the female lead. The film also marks the Malayalam debut of Telugu actor Allu Sirish and Bollywood actor Arunodhay Sings. The other stars in the film include Renji Panicker, Sudheer Karamana, Saiju Kurup, Krishna Kumar, Manikuttan, Padmaraj Ratheesh, Priyanka Agarwal and Zoya Zayed Khan.
Mohanlal will be portraying dual roles in 1971 Beyond Borders as the father-son duo — Major Sahadevan and son Major Mahadevan. The makers have announced the release date of the film as April 7, one week prior to the auspicious occasion of Vishu.
