Great news for all the Mohanlal fans. The Malayalam superstar’s upcoming film, 1971 Beyond Borders is slated to be released in other languages as well. Directed by director-turned-actor Major Ravi and produced by Haneef Mohammed under his banner Red Rose Creations, the film is touted to be a war-thriller.
1971 Beyond Borders also marks the fourth instalment of Major Mahadevan series. Earlier, Mohanlal had portrayed the same role in the Major Ravi’s previous films including Keerthi Chakra, Kurukshetra, and Kandahar. The film is set in two time periods and depicts the story of Indo-Pak war of 1971.
Earlier, the makers had named the Telugu version of the film as 1971 Bharatha Sarihaddu.
And now, the makers have decided to release not just the Telugu version of the film, but also the Tamil and Hindi versions as well. 1971 Bharatha Sarihaddu will be releasing along with its original version 1971 Beyond Borders, while the Tamil and Hindi versions are slated to be released later. The Hindi distribution rights of the film have already been bagged by a top Bollywood production banner while the talks are still on for the Tamil distribution rights.
Meanwhile, 1971 Beyond Borders will be Lalettan’s seventh release in a span of eight months. His previous six releases, Janatha Garage, Oppam, Pulimurugan, Manyam Puli, Kanupapa and Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol were blockbusters at the Box Office.
1971 Beyond Borders features Asha Sharath as Mohanlal’s wife. The film also stars an ensemble star cast including Telugu actor Allu Sirish, Bollywood actor Arunodhay Singh, Renji Panicker, Neha Khan, Srushti Dange, Sudhir Karamana, Saiju Kurup and Zoya Zayed Khan. The music of the film has been jointly composed by Siddharth Vipin, Gopi Sunder, Najim Arshad and Rahul Subramanian.
Both the Malayalam and Telugu versions are slated to be released on 7th April, 2017.
