A decade-long journey came to an end with Avengers: Endgame but it’s only the third phase of MCU that we bid goodbye to.
Phase 4 has already been planned and more superhero action is about to come our way soon. Even Priyanka Chopra is in talks with MCU as it was confirmed by Joe Russo, co-director of Avengers: Endgame. But till we get any confirmation on that front, here are seven MCU films you can look forward to in the upcoming years.
Spider-Man: Far From Home
The announcement of this film came way before Endgame released. That’s why everyone was so sure about Peter Parker coming back even though he got dusted at the end of Infinity War. The first teaser of the film is out and it looks like a ton of fun with Parker messing around for the most of it as a regular teenager. The film is all set to release on July 2, 2019.
Black Widow
The solo female-superhero film that Scarlett Johansson deserved to get years ago is finally happening. Some might say it’s too little, too late given Black Widow (apparently) breathed her last in Endgame, but some are considering this a marketing ploy executed well by Marvel. The film doesn’t have a release date yet, but it’s supposed to release some time in 2020.
(As)Guardians of the Galaxy 3
After James Gunn was fired for his past inappropriate tweets (and then rehired), production got delayed on the third sequel in the GotG series. Now that Thor seems to have joined the Guardians, at the end of Endgame, it will be interesting to see where the story leads our heroes this time around.
Black Panther 2
Black Panther quickly became one of MCU’s biggest commercial hits and was given a sequel soon. But with the fate of most of the characters unknown till Endgame’s release, talks about the sequel were kept under wraps so far. The sequel isn’t likely to arrive anytime sooner than 2021.
Doctor Strange 2
Another MCU sequel all set to hit the theatres in 2021, Doctor Strange 2 will see the return of Benedict Cumberbatch playing the eponymous caped superhero. Reports have it that a scriptwriter hasn’t been decided yet and shooting will only start somewhere in mid-2020.
Shang-Chi
After a Black superhero film and two female superhero sagas, MCU is about to give us our first Asian superhero film. Shang-Chi is allegedly already being fast tracked. But not much is known about the project yet.
The Eternals
The Collector mentioned The Eternals briefly in GotG 2. They were originally intended to be the defenders of Earth against their destructive counterparts, the Deviants, among other external forces. Angelina Jolie and Kumal Nanjianai are supposed to be joining the cast when filming begins this August.
