While fans are still storming in the theaters to watch their favourite movie this Diwali, Ranbir is getting praise for his role. When the director released the trailer and songs of for the movie, fans went berserk over the concept of the film. The audience was excited to see a fresh take on love and friendship.
The story seems relatable and the ensemble cast’s huge fan following couldn’t stop praising the concept. While fans are already going gaga over the sizzling chemistry between Aishwarya and Ranbir, SRK’s cameo in the film is like an icing on the cake. Basically, Karan Johar has left no stones unturned to make his Ae Dil Hai Mushkil a hit. But the bigger question is whether the director’s hard work is good enough to please critics or Karan’s ambitious project will fall flat on its face?
Gulf News Journalist, Manjusha Radhakrishnan said:
“Kapoor steals the thunder from the two women. His anguish and his propensity to wail when he’s dumped makes him immensely lovable. Fawad Khan, who is written on the credit rolls as “special appearance” isn’t given much heft to make his role special. His love story with Alizeh, which showed immense promise, seems to have been killed unceremoniously. Reserve this for a one-time watch.”
Film critic and UAE censor board member Umair Sandhu stated:
“On the whole, AE DIL HAI MUSHKIL is an outstanding film from the writing, performance and execution point of view. It has style, substance, it takes challenges and doesn’t follow formulas — and that is its biggest strength. At the box-office, the film will embark on a hurricane. Its business in Overseas will also be remarkable. Has the potential to prove the biggest money spinner in this territory.”
‘Indicine’ felt that the music of the film has been the soul and there are a few loopholes in the story. They said:
“Ae Dil Hai Mushkil takes us back to the forlorn era of movie making where movies tended to rely on the drama of events and the punch of dialogues. It is not without its faults by any means. The characters are borderline frustrating and the second half is very heavy on the heart. Inspite of all that, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil flows fluidly and entertains all the way through. The music doesn’t provide a hindrance and the acting elevates the drama. Any and every lover of Indian classical movies should check out this classical tale of romance in a modern garb called Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.”
Deepa Gauri Site, Khaleej Times feels that there is nothing new in the movie. They felt:
“So here is the thing: If you like mushy romance, and going by the sniffs and sobs and claps from the cinema hall, you might enjoy the film. It is plain old Bollywood, full of colour, and Dr. Love kind of inspiration. At a point Alizeh tells Ayan, boys are like movies – you have superhits and time-passes; and interest in time-passes fails rapidly and they flop. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is time-pass – its appeal walks the thin line on how star-crossed and how mushy you are.”
