Sonakshi Sinha starrer Noor has bore the brunt of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) aka Censor Board’s scissors again. the censor officials think Dalit and sex toys are objectionable words. As a result, they have asked the makers of the film to remove all references to the community.
“The word Dalit has been muted from the film whenever it finds mention. Also, the makers of the film have been asked to remove the references to a liquor brand,” sources told DNA. Adding further, the website also reported that the film’s director has been asked to replace ‘sex toys’ with adult site.
This is not the first instance when Noor got into trouble with the censor board. The entire film fraternity was shocked when the board had asked the makers to chop reference to journalist Barkha Dutt. It asked them to either remove the name or mute Dutt from the film. Isn’t it bizarre?
A miffed Sonakshi had said,”I think the censor board needs to come to a consensus with themselves as to what is right in one film and what is not in another.” Sonakshi is essaying the role of a journalist in the cinematic adaptation of Pakistani author Saba Imtiaz’s novel Karachi, You’re Killing Me! Directed by Sunhil Sippy, the film also stars Kanan Gill, Purab Kohli and Shibani Dandekar. It is scheduled to hit the theatres on April 21.
