Amitabh Bachchan's fee for Black proves why he is the most respectable actor in Bollywood

Amitabh Bachchan gained applauds for his role in Black. But do you know how much he charged for his Sanjay Leela Bhansali film?

Amitabh Bachchan’s role in Black is still etched in the memory of cine lovers. In this critically acclaimed film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Big B played the role of Debraj Sahai, who tutored a blind, deaf girl played by Rani Mukerji, and later became a patient of Alzheimer. The film that released in 2005, got a thumbs up from both critics and general public. It went on to get the Filmfare awards for the best film.

While one can never have enough of the quality of cinema that Black treated us with, one more information about the film has surfaced that no one would have imagined. Amitabh Bachchan revealed that he didn’t charge a single penny for the film. He added working with Big B was a fulfilling experience.

Here is what Amitabh Bachchan wrote about the film that clocked 12 years on his blog:

I had just wanted to work with Sanjay, after seeing all other works he had done. And when the opportunity came, it was quite overwhelming. I did not take any salary for the film. Just being a part of such an enterprise, was sufficient fees

Not stopping at this, Big B revealed that when fire destroyed the sets, he along with Rani decided to shoot the sequences again. Big B wrote:

He (Bhansali) built the first set of the house at a new floor at Film City, the first set to be put up at this floor. I was shooting for ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ in Film City and Bhansali invited me to come over and see the set. It was magnificent! And just before I entered, Bhansali had lit up the place with candles. It looked heavenly.
