S.S.Rajamouli has rewritten history with his magnum opus Baahubali 2. The movie is the sequel to Baahubali: The Beginning and is also the answer to the best-kept secret ‘Why Kattappa killed Baahubali?’. A lot has already been said and written about Baahubali: The Conclusion, but words fall short to describe the grandeur of this film.
Not only the budget but the sets of Baahubali 2 are larger than life giving it a royal look and feel. One of the most expensive and highest-grossing films in the history of Indian cinema, Baahubali franchise has raised the bar of Indian movies on an international level.
In just 5 days of its release, the film has done a business of Rs 198.25 crores from the Hindi version. Baahubali 2 earned Rs 41 crore on Friday, Rs 40.50 crore on Saturday, Rs 46.50 crore on Sunday, Rs 40.25 crore on Monday and approx Rs 30 crore on Tuesday. Overall, Baahubali 2 has grossed Rs 710 crore, including Rs 440 crores from the nett collection, Rs 565 crores from gross and Rs 145 crores from the overseas collections.
With its amazing box office figures, Baahubali 2 has not only surpassed the collections of its prequel Baahubali: The Beginning but has crossed the lifetime collections of Aamir Khan’s blockbuster film Dangal. Not only this, to celebrate the success of the film, Amul also came up with a poster which features Baahubali and Devasena in their cartoon avatars.
The film, featuring Prabhas, Anushka Shetty, Rana Daggubati and Tamannaah in the lead, released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam in over 6500 screens across India, and in 9000 plus screens worldwide. In fact, Baahubali 2 doing great int eh international market as it released in over 1100 screens in the US and also made it to 40 IMAX screens, the highest ever for an Indian film.
Well, it will be interesting to see how many more records will Baahubali 2 break in the coming weeks.
