SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 is one of the most anticipated films of the year and an insider from the film’s team spoke about intricacies of it. Concept Artist Viswanath Sundaram, who lend his creative skills for the magnum opus. While giving an interview to a leading daily, Viswanath Sundaram said how the Rajamouli used to overlook all the minute details during the filming.
Almost everyone knows by now that Baahubali is set in the fictional city of Mahishmati. Telling about its formation, Viswanath revealed how the director ensured everything was perfect to the T. Vishwanath said Rajamouli has the habit of thinking everything through in the beginning itself. He used to tell the team about the structure of the palace and would have decided about thbe shots corresponding it. During the discussions, Rajamouli used to give insights and the team would develop it around it.
Vishwanath credited Rajamouli for exploring concept designing. He said it has helped filmmakers understand this and they are all up for working around it. He said, Tamil director Vasantha Balan used it in his film Kaaviya Thalaivan. Vishwanath also said that Kamal Haasan has been using storyboarding in his films but added he wasn’t sure he much he used concept arts.

Sundaram also said he was glad that directors have started understanding the importance of concept arts. He said:
It is a very healthy trait. There were days where the audience was only mindful of the hero and heroine. Now, the viewers are evolving, and they are concerned about who the director is, who the cinematographer is, and now there is a substantial amount of film buffs who are aware of the CG and VFX people involved in the movie too. The industry and media are now educating the audience about the people who are out of the spotlight

Baahubali 2 is slated for a release on 28 April and features Parbhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty and Tamannah Bhatia in pivotal roles.
