Baahubali actor Prabhas declines Rs 18 crore brand endorsement offer, wins a million hearts
The actor got endorsement offers from leading brands, according to reports, Prabhas got similar offers after the release of Baahubali: The Beginning.
Prabhas, who has become a household name after the release of the latest blockbuster, Baahubali: The Conclusion, has created a new record by refusing a brand endorsement worth Rs 18 crore. His film has already crossed the Rs 1,200 crore mark at the box office. Prabhas, who played the lead role in the movie, getting offers from popular brands doesn’t come as a surprise. But it seems for Prabhas, his work as an actor comes first.
“Prabhas has been approached by several brands. Although he hasn’t agreed to any of them as of now, he has declined a whopping 18 crore worth of brand endorsement,” his official spokesperson was quoted as saying in a Hindustan Times. This is not the first time that the actor has got the endorsement offers from leading brands, according to reports. Prabhas got similar offers after the release of Baahubali: The Beginning but he declined the offers then as well because he wanted to focus on Baahubali: The Conclusion. His dedication for his work is indeed commendable.
Declining that big an amount speaks a lot about the actor, for whom the utmost priority is his commitment to his movies. Recently, actor Abhay Deol mocked Bollywood celebrities, like Shah Rukh Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, John Abraham, Vidya Balan and others for endorsing fairness products. One of the said stars has always been really vocal about the fact that he does these commercials only to earn money and also, being a celebrity, his job is just to entertain. Actors like Prabhas and Ranbir Kapoor (who declined a Rs 9 crore endorsement) are a breathe of fresh air and someone the industry can look up to.
After Baahubali: The Conclusion, Prabhas is not just another actor but a phenomenon in himself. His character has become larger than life so much so that Bangkok’s Madame Tussads Museum already has his wax statue. In fact, he is the first south Indian actor to have a wax statue at Madame Tussads’ Museum, joining the ranks of the superstar of the millennium, Amitabh Bachchan, PM Narendra Modi, Mahatama Gandhi and Bollywood actors, Aishwarya Rai, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and others.
