2018 is going to be crucial for Bollywood. Besides the release of some of the big-budget movies, the new year will also witness some of the biggest Bollywood clashes of all times. From Tiger Shroff ‘s Baaghi 2 vs Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika to Rajnikanth’s 2.0 vs Akshay Kumar’s Padman, here’s a list of the 5 big Bollywood Box Office clashes of 2018.
2.0 vs Padman / 2.0 vs October
The sequel of Robot which has reportedly been made on a whopping budget of Rs 400 crore is likely to clash with Akshay Kumar’s Padman. Both the movies are reportedly scheduled to release on January 25. Since both the movies feature Akshay Kumar, recent reports suggest that Rajnikanth’s 2.0 might be postponed to April 13. If that happens, 2. 0 will have a direct clash with Varun Dhawan starrer October. And if doesn’t, then history will be created at the Box Office with 2 films featuring one superstar releasing on the same date.
Aiyaari vs Pari
Both Aiyaari starring Manoj Bajpayee and Sidharth Malhotra and Anushka Sharma’s Pari are hitting the screens on February 9. While one is a crime thriller, the other one is a horror-mystery. Even though the two films deal with different subjects, the clash would be interesting.
Hichki vs Parmanu
February 2018 will witness the clash of Rani Mukerji’s comeback — Hichki and John Abraham’s Parmanu. The films are scheduled to release on Feb 23. While the YRF’s film solely depends on the Rani factor, Parmanu seems like John’s much ambitious project.
Manikarnika vs Baaghi 2
While Manikarnika is a historical drama featuring Kangana Ranaut, Baaghi 2 rides on its great commercial value. Both the films are slated to release on April 27. Even though the content is the best judge of a film’s success or failure, Baaghi 2 seems to have an upper hand considering Tiger Shroff’s fan following and Baaghi ‘s phenomenal success at the Box Office.
The list of other films which have blocked their release dates in 2018 as of now is as follows:
Raid — March 16
Sanjay Dutt biopic — March 30
Race 3 — Eid 2018
Gold — August 15
Sui Dhaaga — September 28
Thugs Of Hindostan — Diwali 2018
Ajay Devgn’s untitled romcom — October 19
Shah Rukh Khan’s next — December 21
Apart from this, the movies which are yet to finalise a release date are Super 30 (Hrithik Roshan), 1983 World Cup (Ranveer Singh), Crack (Akshay Kumar), and Dabangg 3 (Salman Khan) among others.
2018 is going to be an entertainment-packed year, isn’t it?
