Here's how Khalsa Aid shut down its critics who alleged the group of helping Muslim Rohingyas only

Sikh organisation Khalsa Aid is running relief support for lakhs of Rohingya refugees at Bangladesh-Myanmar border

Sikh community has proved it time and again that when it comes to serving humanity, they are second to none in the entire world. In times of crisis, the men in turban never shy away from lending a helping hand to needy ones irrespective of their caste, creed and religion. Be it their commitment to serve victims and distressed people in the aftermath of Manchester bombing and London bridge attack or to provide daily langars to the protesting Tamil Nadu farmers back in India, Sikhs are known to lead by example.

Earlier this month, a team of volunteers from Sikh organisation Khalsa Aid reached Bangladesh-Myanmar border to run the relief support for lakhs of Rohingya refugees who fled Myanmar after persecution by the Myanmar army. The NGO’s volunteers are not aonly providing daily langar service for 30,000 to 50,000 people in Teknaf, they are also to build stable and secure shelters for the refugees after Bangladesh government allots them land. The self-help group’s noble initiative drew accolades on social media and other platforms.

However, there were a few people on Twitter who targeted the group for being ‘baised’ and asked them why they don’t serve Hindus or Sikhs in Pakistan. If that was not enough, group was also accused of being Khalistan sympathisers.

Perhaps, the self-help group knew a better way silence its critics. Khalsa-Aid shared a video in which they could be seen serving Hindu Rohingyas who much like Muslim Rohingyas have fled Myanmar following Myanmar army’s alleged ethnic cleansing.

The group have earlier responded to these allegations saying, “Not only Sikhs we also assisted Hindus too during the 2005 earthquake & 2009 SWAT crises.”
