Aamir Khan’s Dangal is on a record breaking spree once again and it looks like the film is all set to become Bollywood’s highest-earning film in China. The actor’s other two blockbuster films 3 Idiots and PK have also done a roaring business in China before and he is one of the most popular Bollywood actors in China.
Dangal, the actor’s latest project, earned Rs 13.38 crore on its opening day on Friday and Rs 26.82 crore on Saturday, minting a total of Rs 40.20 crore so far. So far, PK is the only Indian movie to have crossed Rs 100 crore in China and it had done so in 16 days since its release. It’s a mark which could well be surpassed by Dangal — a story of a gritty wrestler in India’s small town who trains his two daughters to become world-class wrestlers.
And going with Dangal‘s two days collection, it won’t be wrong to say that it will soon become Bollywood’s highest-earning film in China. Dangal was released as ‘Shuai Jiao Baba‘, which means ‘Let’s Wrestle, Dad’. The film is getting great reviews from one and all not only for the amazingly inspirational story but also for Aamir’s incredible performance.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and wrote:
#Dangal has EXCELLENT growth on Sat in China… Fri $ 2.08 mn, Sat $ 4.17 mn. Total: $ 6.25 million [₹ 40.20 cr].

The producers said it would release in a record-breaking 9,000 screens in China, but as per trade experts, it has released in 7,000 screens out of the country’s nearly 40,000 screens. According to reports, one of the big cinema chains has not shown interest in the movie. Still, it is doing well.
Helmed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film did a commendable business not only domestically but internationally as well. Apart from Aamir, the film also stars Sakshi Tanwar, Fatima Sana Sheikh, Sanya Malhotra, Zaira Wasim and Suhani Bhatnagar and Aparshakti Khurrana.
