It is a pleasant news for Aamir Khan that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has cleared his upcoming film Dangal without any cuts. The running time of the film is two hours and 41 minutes and has received a universal exhibition. Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh government has declared the film as tax-free.

This smooth clearance by the censor board is indeed a good news for the film’s makers as the ongoing year had numerous instances of producers facing troubles by the certifying body.
Dangal marks Aamir’s return to silver screen after a gap of two years. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film is a biopic of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat, who trains his daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari. Besides Khan, the film features Sakshi Tanwar, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra. Dangal is scheduled to hit the theatres on December 23.

The ongoing year has not been a pleasant for most of the movies in terms of commercial success as well. Barring Sultan, no film has managed to earn the blockbuster status so far while films like Pink, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Dear Zindagi have been the standout performers in 2016.
With the demonetisation move by Narendra Modi government adversely affecting film business, the producers are hopeful that the Aamir Khan-starrer will be able to bring some cheers to the film fraternity at last. Also, Dangal faces no such competition as no other big-budget film is going to hit the theatres during this time.
