It seems 2017, is proving to be a lucky year for small screen actresses. After the news of Mouni Roy’s Bollywood debut with Akshay Kumar’s Gold, another popular name of Tele world has also joined the list of actresses, who is going o make her Bollywood debut. Ankita Lokhande, who ruled the television world with her popular show Pavitra Rishta is now all set to make her Bollywood debut with Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika The Queen of Jhansi.
While Kangana will play the main lead as Rani Lakshmi Bai, Ankita Lokhande will be seen portraying the role of Jhalkaribai in the upcoming period drama. The actress, who earlier portray the characters of wife, daughter-in-law in her shows, will now showcase her totally different side through her upcoming film. In Manikarnika The Queen of Jhansi, Ankita will be seen fighting with swords, riding horses.
Talking to a leading daily about her debut film, Anita said: “I’d never heard of her before, not many have, but Jhalkaribai was one of the greatest heroes of our proud history. I’m honoured that I’ll be telling her story to the world, fighting alongside Kangana’s Rani Laxmibai”.

She will start shooting for the film in August. Talking about the same, she explained: “I am indebted to Kamal sir for this challenging role in a big – budget film scripted by Baahubali scriptwriter KV Vijayendra Prasad alongside a National-award winning actress like Kangana who exudes power and is an inspiration to all women. I am looking forward to learning from her once we start shooting in August.”

Manikarnika – The Queen Of Jhansi, slated to release in April 2018, is being directed by Krish. This is the first time Kangana will be seen in such role.
