Akshay Kumar is all geared for his next release Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. Ahead of its release, Akshay has received various accolades from all corners. Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi also lauded the film’s trailer as ‘good effort’. Khiladi Kumar is known for essaying patriotic and social reform-centric performances. Now the buzz is that he might play PM Modi on the silver screen.
According to the reports published by a leading daily, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) Chief Pahlaj Nihlani said, “I can’t think of anyone better to play our Prime Minster than Akshay. He has a spotless image of an idealist and visionary. And look at the kind of work he’s doing. Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Padman are the cinema of social reform that Guru Dutt and V Shantaram were associated with. Also, Akshay has risen from humble working class beginnings to become a national star, just like Modiji. We are certainly looking at a strong possibility of Akshay playing Modiji.”
Reports also said that Paresh Rawal, Anupam Kher and Victor Banerjee were strong contenders of playing PM Modi on screen.

Veteran actor and BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha quoted “Akshay is the Mr Clean of India. His image goes well with the image of the New Shining India.”
We wonder if this ever comes true or not. Till now Akshay has not responded to this suggestion of the CBFC chief.
Akshay’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is reportedly inspired by the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan initiated by PM Modi. A love story with a satirical flavour, the movie is helmed by Shree Narayan Singh, and produced by Aruna Bhatia, Plan C Studios and Abundantia, and presented by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and KriArj Entertainment.
It will be the first time that Akshay will be featuring in a film with the Dum Laga Ke Haisha star Bhumi Pednekar. The film also marks Akshay and Anupam Kher’s 20th film together.
