The whole nation went numb with the news of the terror attack on the Amarnath Yatra pilgrims on Monday, July 10, killing seven pilgrims and injuring 15 others. The bus was attacked in Batengoo around 8.20 p.m. while returning from Baltal to Mir Bazar after the darshan. Along with every citizen of this country, Bollywood celebrities have also condemned the much unfortunate attacks.
Expressing anguish over the terror attack, veteran actor Anupam Kher said, “It is high time we stop being diplomatic and defensive. The killing of innocent people should be dealt with total force.”
Filmmaker Ashok Pandit said that the attack was not an act of terrorism but of war. “We are tired of crying, burning candles, condemning the killing of Hindus in Jammu and Kashmir. I would like to very openly say that this is not an act of terrorism but of war. It is high time to realise this undeclared war. I hail all those pseudo-liberals politicians who want to go and hug the Hurriyat leaders because they are responsible for this killing,” he added.
From Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt to Shabana Azmi, Karan Johar and Shekhar Kapoor, all took to their social media handles to share their thoughts. Voicing their concern over the issue they said:
Terrorism is the height of cowardice. Prayers for the victims in Amarnath.
