Anushka Sharma is playing a ghost in her upcoming film Phillauri. She is on a promotional spree and is leaving no stone unturned to ensure there is no end to the buzz surrounding her home production venture. We all know how the situation turned awkward at the Oscars 2017 ceremony. The presenters mistakenly awarded the Academy Award for Best Picture to La La Land. Later, the mistake was clarified and Barry Jenkins’ Moonlight was announced the winner. The incident led to major embarrassment for the Academy Awards organisers as the social media voiced its displeasure over what they alleged was disrespectful towards Ryan Gosling-Emma Stone starrer La La Land.
Now, Anushka had a funny take on the entire incident. She posted a picture of hers on Twitter which will leave you in splits. The photoshopped image had her character Shashi standing between Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway and murmuring,”Yeh log mujhe sun nahin paye, main toh kab se Hindi mein keh rahi thi ki naam galat likha hai #ShashiWasThere (I think these folks did not hear me, I was saying in Hindi since long that they read out the wrong name).” Isn’t it hilarious? The tweet went crazily viral and got rewteeted 500 times.
If you are thinking that Anushka was unhappy about the Oscar gaffe, you are wrong. Actually, it is a promotional strategy wherein her character Shashi is seen in random pictures. The pictures are posted with a hashtag #ShashiWasThere.
