Anushka Sharma plays a ghost in upcoming home production Phillauri. The trailer of the film has created a lot of buzz since it was unveiled on the social media. The video has raked in close to 12 million views on YouTube.
Anushka recently shared a poster of the film on social media, which has become insanely popular. The poster which has Anushka and Diljit in it, reads,”Some love stories last beyond a lifetime.” Do we need to say anything beyond that?
Set in Punjab, Phillauri features Suraj Sharma, Anushka Sharma, Mehreen Pirzada and Diljit Dosanjh. The film is directed by Anshai Lal. It is for the first time that both Anushka and Diljit have been paired together, and their chemistry has become an instant hit. Diljit has received praises for his look in the film. In an interview to a leading daily, he said about being unsure of the response he would get for his new look in the flick.
I was a little unsure of how the audience will react to my new look in the film but their response was heart-warming. The film team was kind enough to give the costume to me. I have decided to use it in one of my songs
Diljit Dosanjh’s career is at the peak after he won the Filmfare Award for Best Debut in 2016 drama Udta Punjab. Also, he is an established name in the Punjabi film industry. On the other hand, it will be Anushka’s first release of 2017. Last year, she won accolades for her performances in Sultan and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Phillauri is Anushka’s second venture after NH-10 which was a critical success.

Phillauri is scheduled to hit the theatres on 24 March.
