Baadshaho had a good opening weekend as the film raked in approximately Rs 43 crore in its three-day run at the Box Office. The Ajay Devgn-starrer, though off to a decent start, escalated its business over the weekend due to Eid Holiday followed by Sunday.
Baadshaho has done well at the mass centers like Rajasthan, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat whereas it is just about average at the big centers like Mumbai, Delhi, Punjab, Kolkata and Chennai. The film oversaw a wide release in India with the multiplexes, in particular, promising an immense scope to grow over the weekend. However, the mass oriented flavor kept the multiplex viewers at bay.
While the 3-day collections are good, it is just half battle won, as the film needs to double its collections to be termed a safe bet at the Box Office. The all India distribution rights of Baadshaho were sold for Rs 42 crore, and the film would break even at collections close to Rs 80 crore in India.
Day Wise Collection:
- Friday: Rs 12.30 crore
- Saturday: Rs 15.60 crore
- Sunday: Rs 15.10 crore
- Total: Rs 43. 30 crore
The film was received with outright negative reviews from the critics, however, the audience response is far different from that of the critics. The word of mouth seems to be mixed as yet, however, the collections that the film rakes in on Monday would give us a proper insight on the actual response. Time and again, critically panned films have managed to reach a respectable total at the Box Office and Baadshaho too might join the list.
The film is the third biggest opener for Ajay Devgn whereas it is highest ever for Emraan Hashmi.
PS: The numbers quoted above are obtained from the producers of the film. According to our sources, the three-day collection of Baadshaho stands at approximately Rs 38 crore, which is also a good result.
