Baahubali 2 crosses Rs 500 crore worldwide in its opening weekend at the Box Office

And the history is in making! SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Conclusion has emerged as the first regional film to cross the magical Rs 500 at the Box Office worldwide. The film, a war-drama, jointly produced by Shobu Yarlagadda, Kovelamudi Raghavendra Rao and Prasad Devineni, features Prabhas and Anushka Shetty in lead roles.

Baahubali 2 is said to have a record breaking weekend worldwide of Rs 500 crore in its opening weekend. The Hindi dubbed version of Baahubali 2 has clocked Rs 128 crore in its opening weekend and has become the top Hindi film with highest opening weekend collections ever. The film has also shattered the opening weekend records set by the Salman Khan’s Sultan and Aamir Khan’s Dangal at the Box Office.

At the Tamil Nadu Box Office, Baahubali 2 has minted Rs 32 crore in its opening weekend whereas in the two Telugu-dominated states, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, the Prabhas starrer has amassed Rs 110 crore in the three calendar days. Baahubali 2 has also continued its record breaking spree in Kerala and Karnataka by minting Rs 47 crore and Rs 19.58 crore, respectively.

Here’s the Box Office collection breakdown of the overseas collection of Baahubali 2:

US market: Rs 68 crore
UAE market: Rs 20 crore

It should also be noted that Baahubali 2 has overpowered the opening weekend collections of Rs 12.57 set in UAE by the 2016 Mohanlal blockbuster Pulimurugan to become the top Indian film with highest opening weekend collections. The film has maintained its terrific run in New Zealand, Australia and the UK Box Office as well.

With over Rs 500 crore worldwide collections in its opening weekend, it’s a cakewalk for Baahubali 2 to enter the dream club of Rs 1000 crore worldwide. If it happens, it will be indeed a proud moment for entire Indian film fraternity and Indians.
