One of the most talked about film of this year Begum Jaan released this Friday and despite receiving good reviews from the Bollywood personalities, it has failed to leave a mark at the Box Office. After receiving a lukewarm response in its opening day, the film has now managed to earn Rs 4.03 crore on day three of its release. Starring Vidya Balan, Gauahar Khan, and Pallavi Sharda among others, the film is a Hindi adaptation of critically acclaimed Bengali film Rajkahini.
Begum Jaan opened at the Box-Office with a collection of Rs 3.94 crore on Friday but saw a drastic fall in figures on Saturday with a collection of Rs 3.51 crore. Overall the film has collected Rs 11.48 crore so far.
Begum Jaan is a story of 11 prostitutes, who refuse to bow down to the system during the partition between India and Pakistan. It has been produced by Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt under the banner of Vishesh Films. In the film, Vidya essayed the role of a brothel owner and unlike her other film, this time Vidya is looking totally different in her fierce avatar as Begum Jaan.

Vidya was last seen in Kahaani 2 alongside Arjun Rampal. On the professional front, she has Tumhari Sulu in her kitty. In the film, she will be seen essaying the role of a Radio Jockey. This is not the first time for Vidya to portray such character on-screen, she has earlier played the role of a RJ in Sanjay Dutt starrer Lage Raho Munna Bhai. Said to be a comedy film, actor Manav Kaul will play the on-screen husband of Vidya Balan in the upcoming film. Director by Suresh Triveni, Tumhari Sulu is scheduled to release on December 1.
