Actor Varun Dhawan was unable to cast his vote in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) polls. His name wasn’t on the voters list and he said it was strange. Speaking to media, Varun asserted that he had casted his vote the previous elections and would find why this happened with the Election Commission. Media reports have it that Varun Dhawan flew from Jaipur to Mumbai only to cast his vote.
Reportedly, he was angry after been told to leave booth as his name was not on the list.
The star has been spending busy days promoting his film Badrinath Ki Dulhania.
Not only, Varun Dhawan, a similar incident happened with veteran actor Paresh Rawal as well. The actor was among the early ones to visit the polling booths with his wife Swaroop Sampat. But he learned that his name wasn’t on the list and came back home.
For the ongoing BMC elections, celebrities have turned up in huge numbers. Among the Bollywood celebs who came to cast their votes were Zoya Akhtar, Rekha, Gulzar and Subhash Ghai.
However, there were few biggies who missed the elections this time. Priyanka Chopra, Aamir Khan, Rishi Kapoor, Anupam Kher and Javed Akhtar along with Shabana Azmi, are reportedly not casting their votes. Anupam Kher gave the voting a miss since he was in Cape Town. Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh, are in Hong Kong, which is why they too didn’t turn up to cast their votes. Aamir Khan is currently abroad prepping up for his role in Thugs of Hindostan.
While there were few celebs who couldn’t make it to the polling booths, few like Varun Dhawan couldn’t cast the vote despite being there.
