Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil and Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees released on the same day and since then both the films are competing against each other. While Raees set the box office on fire, Kaabil struggled to make its place in the initial days of its release.
Raees did a business of Rs 20.42 crore on its opening day and Kaabil managed to earn Rs 10.43 crore, which almost half of the Shah Rukh starrer. But it seems like things have slowly taken a u-turn and Kaabil will soon surpass Raees in terms of collection.
Both Shah Rukh and Hrithik were highly praised by the audience and the film critics for their performances. While Hrithik played the character of a blind man in the film, SRK portrayed the role of a wicked bootlegger in Raees.
In the third week of its release, Kaabil earned Rs 1.11 crore on Friday, minting a total amount of Rs 130.27 crore so far. And Raees earned Rs 1.05 crore which is a lesser amount as compared to that of Kaabil, minting a total of Rs 161.91 so far.
After looking at the figures we can say that Shah Rukh’s film is still ruling the box office, but Kaabil‘s growth can’t be overlooked. It won’t be wrong to say that Hrithik’s film will soon surpass the collection of Raees and will emerge as a winner.
But now the competition has become really tough after the release of Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 2, as the film is getting a great response and it has already started earning profit from the very first day.
