Finally this week after waiting for two long years, we will get the answer to the million-dollar question.
The question is Kattappa Ne Baahubali ko kyun maara. The answer will be revealed when you flock to the theatre to watch Baahubali 2 which will release on Friday. Here’s all you need to know about the film.
About the film
Baahubali: The Conclusion has been produced by Arka Entertainment. Originally in Telugu, the film has been dubbed in Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam. Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions is distributing the Hindi version of the film. The screenplay of the film has been written by KV Vijayendra Prasad, who is Rajamouli’s father.
Cast
Baahubali is the fight between two cousins Baahubali and Bhallaladeva. Prabhas is Baahubali whereas Rana Daggubati is Bhallaladeva. Besides this, you have an ensemble cast comprising Tamannah Bhatia, who played Shivudu’s love interest Avanthika in the first film. Plus, you have Ramya Krishnan essaying the role of Rani Sivagami in the film.
Then you have Anushka Shetty. In the first instalment, you saw an old Devasena whereas Amrendra Baahubali’s love interest is in her younger avatar. You have Nasser who plays Bhallaladeva’s father Bijjaladeva. Sathyaraj plays Kattappa who kills Baahubali towards the end.
Plot
Baahubali was all about Shivudu learning about his father Amrendra Baahubali’s rise to the throne of Mahishmati. However, the second part will deal with his tenure, his love interest Devasena and the subsequent ego clashes between Devasena and Queen Sivagami.

So essentially, Baahubali is about Prabhas. Hats off to his dedication, he gave 5 years to the movie and did not sign a single film during the shooting. Talking about one single action sequence, he trained for almost 30 days and got a gym at his house which cost Rs 1.5 crore. Moving from Prabhas as Baahubali to Bhallaladeva, the second pivotal character of the film. Rana Daggubati underwent rigorous training to get into the shape.
What do you think was the USP of Baahubali? With the second instalment releasing in less than a week and the entire nation asking why Kattappa killed Baahubali, the VFX have created a lot of buzz. Talking about VFX, at least 3.5 years were dedicated and 30 studios from Ukraine, China and Iran employed to create the kind of VFX the film boasts of.

Controversies
When have we witnessed a big film getting released without controversies? Never. Baahubali: The Conclusion met the same fate with pro-Kannada groups from a statement that Sathyaraj made nine years ago. Sathyaraj essays the role of Kattappa and had said that Tamil Nadu farmers should stand up for themselves. Pro-Kannada groups called for a day-long bandh in the state on 28th april. But now that Sathyraj has apologised and has been accepted by the groups, we can witness the smooth release of the film.
Box office
Baahubali 2 is the most anticipate film of 2017. The fans have been waiting for the past two years. It goes without saying that when the movie releases on April 28, it will set the box office on fire. I guess the movie will easily earn Rs 30-40 crore. The movie is releasing across 6,500 screens all over India.
