Filmmaker Kabir Khan, who is currently busy working on his upcoming film Tubelight, starring Salman Khan, is all set to surprise us with yet another mind blowing project. Kabir will soon make his digital debut with an international web series. Yes, you heard that right!
It is being said that the web series will comprise of 10 episode and is set during World War II. The series will extensively be shot abroad and will explore various aspects, including that of Subhash Chandra Bose’s Indian National Army.
Rumours have it that the scale and budget of Kabir Khan’s mega project will be much higher than any of his films so far and his team will be a blend of actors and technicians from all over the world. It is a known fact that most of Kabir’s films are either war dramas or patriotic, so the subject of this web series doesn’t come as a surprise to us.
In fact, you will be surprised to know that Kabir made his directorial debut with a documentary titled The Forgotten Army, which was based on Subhash Chandra Bose’s Indian National Army. Currently, the web series is in the scripting stage and Kabir will start working on it after the release of his Salman Khan starrer Tubelight.
Set against the backdrop of Indo-Sino war, Tubelight is a story of a dumb soldier who takes time to register things. Recently, the music rights of the film were sold to Sony Music for a whopping Rs 20 crore and Tubelight consists if only three songs, which are the background scores.
Tubelight is Kabir Khan and Salman Khan’s third collaboration after Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which were huge blockbusters. The film is slated for an Eid release this year and also marks the Bollywood debut of Chinese actress Zhu Zhu opposite Salman Khan.
