Cracks out in open? Madhu Mantena apparently quit Phantom Films after Vikas Bahl row

Madhu Mantena has decided to put his foot down and quit Phantom Films after Vikas Bahl's incident made it to the headlines

One of the most illustrious production houses of Bollywood, Phantom Films made it to the headlines for not so good reasons. It all started when Vikas Bahl, one of the founders of Phantom Films, was alleged to molest a woman working with him. This incident put the celebrated production house in a tough spot and reports about a fallout in the company are getting mileage.

Now if reports are to be believed Madhu Mantena, one of the founders of the company, has decided to bid Phantom Films adieu. The report in the leading daily added that Vikas Bahl has been given the ultimatum to leave the company.

Apparently, the other members of the team- Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap were not happy with Vikas’ behaviour from quite some time now. Vikas disagreed with Anurag and Vikramaditya on more than one occasions and Madhu was caught in this battle, suggested the report. The recent event of alleged molestation has forced Madhu to put his foot down and he has decided to leave the company.

Not only this, Vikas Bahl has already left the company after the incident. The cracks in the company started when Anurag Kashyap had a fallout with Vikas Bahl after Bombay Velvet tanked at the Box Office. This brings us to the question: Will Phantom Films’ see an end soon?

When this controversy had broken out, Vikas Bahl had said:

I have heard about this particular lady you are speaking about and the Goa incident. She is not my employee. Yes, I am friends with her, we have worked together and there is a production job we have done together…but if she is feeling like this I would like to sit across a table from her and talk to her. I want to ask her if I have crossed a line, whether I have done anything to hurt her and if she feels that way I would like to apologise for it.

The way Vikas addressed the issue earned him ire on social media with many saying this reeked of his misogynistic attitude.
