As expected, Aamir Khan’s Dangal has set the Box Office by storm. While the opening day collection of Dangal remains at Rs 29. 78 crore, the second day also raked in a lot of moolah for the film. Dangal collected a massive Rs 34. 82 crore on Saturday in India, making a total of Rs 64. 60 crore in just two days at the Box Office. These figures also include a phenomenal business done by the Telugu and Tamil version of the film.
The Nitesh Tiwari directorial had opened to more than 4300 screens in India. With Sunday being a Christmas holiday and the good word generated around the film, the sports-drama is expected to garner around Rs 35 crore at the Box Office. This will eventually make the film cross the coveted mark of Rs 100 crore at the Box Office. In just two days, Dangal has surpassed the week one collection of Baaghi, Befikre, Dishoom, Mohenjo Daro and Udta Punjab.
It should also be noted that Dangal will also be the second film crossing Rs 100 mark at the Box Office in 2016 in its first week, after Sultan. While the Salman Khan film had minted a whopping amount of Rs 229. 16 crore in its first week at the Box Office, it had enjoyed a free run of 9 days due to an extended weekend. The top week one collection of Hindi films released in 2016 is as follows:
- Sultan – Rs 229. 16 crore (9-day)
- MS Dhoni: The Untold Story – Rs 94. 13 crore
- Rustom – Rs 90. 9 crore
- Airlift – Rs 83. 5 crore
- Ae Dil Hai Mushkil – Rs 80. 19 crore
- Housefull 3 – Rs 80. 1 crore
- Fan – Rs 71. 5 crore
- Shivaay – Rs 70. 41 crore

Aamir Khan’s films and Christmas
Dangal has added to the list of Aamir Khan’s successful films released during the Christmas season. The film is the sixth film by Aamir to have released on Christmas and the results reveal that the 100 % success of the actor at the Box Office remains intact. Taare Zameen Par, Ghajini, 3 Idiots, Dhoom 3, PK and now Dangal — all the Aamir Khan’s Christmas releases have fared exceptionally well at the Box Office.

Overseas collection of Dangal
Dangal has also done a tremendous overseas business. The four-day collection (Dangal was released overseas on Thursday) of the film in New Zealand, Australia, UK and Ireland is as follows:
- New Zealand: Rs 66. 42 lakh
- Australia: Rs 2. 55 crore
- UK & Ireland: Rs 4. 41 crore
The film is expected to break many records as well as set new records at the Box Office. After all, dangal toh hona hi tha!
