Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Toilet: Ek Prem Katha‘s trailer has already taken everybody by storm. The much-awaited trailer of the film, released on June 11 predicts that film will turn out to be another blockbuster at the Box Office by Khiladi Kumar. The film is all set to hit the screens on August 11 this year.
Within 24 hours of trailer’s release, it has got 5,789,830 views on the YouTube so far. Everybody is praising Akshay for his terrific performance in the film. But few know that he was not the first choice to play ‘Keshav’ in the movie.
The makers of the film did not find Akshay fit for the role. They wanted a young face to play the character. But it was the writers of the film who stood for Khiladi Kumar. Siddharth and Garima, the writers of the film were adamant to cast him and believed he could pull off the role with ease. Siddharth and Garima have also written the 2013 Box Office blockbuster film, Ram Leela.
The producer of the film Neeraj Pandey was not convinced that Akshay would suit the role well. Garima says, “Akshay was always the first choice for me and Siddharth. We did face a little bit of friction from the production house on whether he should be on board but we both were always adamant on having him.”
The movie deals with a social cause and hence it even has the Government backing it. Even the CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani urged to make the film tax-free.
