Did you know Sathyaraj didn’t even tell his family: Kattappa ne Baahubali ko kyu maara
Sathyaraj's daughter shares how his father would just smile whenever she and her brother, Sibi pestered him.
When the whole world was breaking their heads over ‘Why Kattappa killed Baahubali’, among the few people who knew the secret, Sathyaraj, who played Kattappa in the movie made sure even his family does not get to know the details. In the climax scene of Baahubali or Baahubali: The Beginning, Kattappa, a faithful servant of the Mahishmati kingdom, kills Amarendra Baahubali, leaving the audience shocked.
The secret was out only with the release of Baahubali 2 or Baahubali: The Conclusion. This goes on to show how the entire cast and crew of Baahubali kept it safe from the entire world and even from their families. In an interview to the Deccan Chronicle, actor Sathyaraj’s daughter Divya Sathyaraj reveals how she and her brother kept on annoying their father by playing silly guessing games but he never revealed the secret.
Like his on-screen character, Sathyaraj’s dedication and sincerety towards his work is commendable and his daughter shares how his father would just smile whenever she and her brother pestered him. “I did not ask him about it even once and neither did my mom or Sibi. I did bully him once though saying I would tell all my friends! Sibi and I would play guessing games in front of Dad. He would simply smile and say nothing. Even if we had pestered him, he wouldn’t have told any of us. I think that was the only secret he kept from me because we are the best of friends and tell each other everything. We knew the secret only when we watched the film,” she was quoted as saying to the Deccan Chronicle.
Now, not just Baahubali fans but those who haven’t even watched the movie know that a reluctant Kattappa killed Baahubali on Rajamata Sivagami’s (played by veteran actress Ramya Krishnan) orders, who was tricked by her own son, Bhalladeva (played by Rana Daggubatti). Baahubali 2 has already minted Rs 1,450 crores at the Boxoffice and Divya Sathyaraj is a proud daughter today as she adds, “… I have already seen the film twice and will be watching it with my grandmother and dad again.”
