Salman Khan, who is busy working for his upcoming film Tubelight, is all set to give us one of the biggest blockbusters of this year. Made on a budget of around Rs 100 crore, Salman’s Tubelight is already in profit even before its release and our expectations are really high with it.
Earlier, the music rights of the film were sold to Sony Music for Rs 20 crore and now the distribution rights of Tubelight have been sold for a whopping Rs 200 crore in India and China. According to a report in BollywoodLife, the film will be released across 1200 screens in China and the theatrical rights have been sold to an unnamed company for Rs 75 crore.
Apart from the Chinese rights collections, the remaining amount adding to the Rs 200 crore mark is from the Indian distribution rights. NH Studioz has brought the domestic rights of Tubelight for Rs 132 crore, which makes the total amount to Rs 207 crores, excluding the music rights figures.
In fact, this is not Salman Khan’s first film whose music rights have been sold for such a high price. Earlier, his film Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’s music rights were also sold for a whopping Rs 19 crore. It is also being said that the film has only 3 songs which are the background scores.
Helmed by Kabir Khan, the film is based on 1962 Sino-Indian War and Salman Khan plays the role of a soldier. Tubelight also stars Shatrughan Sinha, late actor Om Puri and marks the Bollywood debut of Chinese actress Zhu Zhu. And what makes it even more special is Shah Rukh Khan’s cameo.
Tubelight is Salman Khan’s third collaboration with Kabir Khan after Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. This amazing director-actor duo has given us two of the biggest blockbusters and it seems like they are all set to make a hat-trick with Tubelight.
The film is slated to hit the screens on June 23 this year.
