Golmaal Again has taken a tremendous start at the Box Office as the occupancy in the morning shows were around 70 to 75% across India. The film has taken the best start for a Bollywood film this year in terms of occupancy in the morning shows and is expected to emerge as the biggest opener of the year surpassing Tubelight (Rs 21 crore).
The film has embarked on a great run all across the country with certain centres in Mumbai, Gujarat, Delhi, Bihar and Punjab recording occupancy at par the biggest Indian film of all time ie Baahubali: The Conclusion. The restrained release on merely 3300 screens would restrict the film from becoming Ajay Devgn’s biggest opener till date, a record currently held by Singham Returns (Rs 32 crore). Given the start, the movie is expected to ring in around Rs 26 to 28 crore on the opening day, setting up the base for the collections to grow over the weekend.

Given the start, the film looks like another winner for the hit pair of Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty, who in the past have worked in successful films like Golmaal, Golmaal Returns, All The Best, Singham and Singham Returns. The budget of Golmaal Again is around Rs 90 crore (inclusive of promotions) and the film is produced and distributed by Reliance Entertainment. The Rohit Shetty entertainer would be termed successful at collections above Rs 120 crore.
The audience reports so far are on the positive side and the critic reviews are pretty decent, far better than what one would expect for a slapstick comedy film.

The real test for Golmaal Again would begin from Monday. Given the tremendous pre-release hype, the good word of mouth is expected to keep the collections on weekdays close to those in the first three days.
